Montgomery Motor Speedway was opened April 25, 1955 and is known as the Home of the Alabama Gang. From 1955 through 1968, the track held Grand National races, with race winners including Richard Petty, Bobby Allison, Tim Flock, Marvin Panch and Jim Paschal. The track was originally a dirt surface, but was paved in 1956. Today, the track is home of the “Alabama 200” and the oldest running race track in Alabama.
